It’s All in the Name

I google myself randomly, often. I want to be kept up to date with what comes up when people search for me.

Today, I realized something. I have an edge on the blade of search engine optimization. Nobody else has my name. At least, I haven’t seen any other “Lolita Allgyer” pop up on a Google search.

It got me to thinking about the power in a name. The Bible is full of the lineage of important people, all because of how significant names were. Throughout all culture, bloodline has been a determining factor in how civilization viewed each individual. Monarchies and caste systems were founded on the power of names. History is marked by the people whose names remind us of extreme good or evil.

Today, more than ever, names are important. You can search for anybody freely. People go viral for one piece of content that hits millions of others just right. And today, we have more control over what other people think when our names hit their ears.

It’s called digital branding. Am I consistent online with who I am in person? Or the reverse: Do I deliver on the promises I make on social media and other sites?

Back to my edge with the Google search engine: It’s all the more reason to reflect accurately who I am as a person. Who can Lolita Allgyer reach by creating valuable content? What can people learn from who I am?

I am inspired once more to make my imprint on the face of this world. When people hear my name, I want them to lift their heads, and strive to live life to the full. I want them to be challenged to reach higher every time they see content I have created. I seek to instill others with a passion to better themselves every day.

Your name is your tool. Use it wisely.
