Many systems that are in place have traditions that have stuck for years. Many times these traditions worked splendidly at one point in the past. Other times, the trends simply seemed effective to those who set them rolling.
Regardless, no one dares to question traditions that have been held for long periods of time. Human nature follows the scientific law of inertia. We resist change.
To overcome the traditions, equal and opposite force has to be applied. This is why so many traditions remain unchallenged. No one has the grit to withstand the rolling ball of a system that has been in place for years.
But when even one person rises up and asks critical questions about the customs others swallow, revolutions happen. It takes withstanding great amounts of force. Everyone else wants to flow with the systems that are already in place. However, the first question is the biggest force that can be applied to a standardized tradition.
Challenge the system. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Seek to inspire critical thinking in other human beings. Live free.
